Senior engineering partnership · US and LATAM

For founders and engineering leaders at growing companies

    Software built
    for you.
    Owned by you.

ZedLabs is a senior engineering partnership in the US and Latin America. We scope, build and hand over custom software and AI for growing businesses, and we staff and coach engineering teams that need more. We can usually start within a few weeks.

    How it goes

    1. 01A first conversation about the problem. Free, no pitch
    2. 02A written scope, plan and estimate
    3. 03We build it, with your review as we go
    4. 04You get the code, the docs and a way to run it

    Outcome

Code, docs and a runbook, yours

    What we do

Four ways to work with us.

Most clients start with a build. Others need engineers on their team, or an architect to guide the one they have. AI runs through all of it where it makes sense.

Reporting and workflow tools, customer portals, internal applications, or a modern replacement for the system holding you back. We agree the scope and the price up front, build with you in the loop, and hand it over with the documentation to run it.

    Yours

    Code, docs and a runbook

We add AI to the software and workflows you already run, build agents where the economics hold up, and show your engineers how to ship faster with AI tools without quality slipping.

    Talk about AI

Senior engineers in the US or nearshore, working your hours in your repo. We place them on your team, or run the team and deliver to you.

    • You interview and approve every engineer
    • Same time zone, same standup
    • Mentored by us throughout

An architect for teams that don't have one, and hands-on coaching for the engineers you do. We design the solution; your team or ours builds it.

    • System design and technical direction
    • Code review, delivery practice and AI-assisted development
    • Plain-language AI guidance for leadership

    What we build

What that looks like in practice.

    Reporting and dashboards

Reliable numbers pulled from the systems you already have, in one place.

    Workflow and operations tools

Purpose-built tools to replace the spreadsheets and email chains your operations run on.

    Customer sites and portals

Marketing sites and self-service portals that take work off your team.

    Internal business applications

The applications your business runs on, built around your process instead of a vendor's.

    Modernizing existing systems

Retire outdated software and technical debt in stages, without a big-bang rewrite.

AI in what you already run

Agents, assistants and automation added to your current software, with the guardrails to run them.

    Cloud migration

Move on-prem and legacy systems to Azure or AWS with a plan for cost, security and uptime.

    Warehouse and IoT automation

Edge-to-cloud control systems and AI for faster picks and fewer errors.

    How we work

Senior people, modern practice, no lock-in.

Engineers who have shipped this kind of software before, working in the open with your team, and a handover that leaves you independent.

    01 / Senior by default

    Principal-level, start to finish

A principal-level engineer leads each engagement and stays through delivery.

    02 / Nearshore, your hours

Costa Rica and Guatemala, on Central Time

Our nearshore engineers work your business day, join your standup and commit to your repo. Strong English, no overnight handoffs.

03 / AI in the loop

    Smaller team, faster delivery

We build with AI coding agents every day, so a small senior team ships what used to take a larger one. Code review, automated tests and security checks stay in place. We teach your engineers the same practice.

    04 / Yours to own

    Handover is the deliverable

Code, documentation, deployment setup and a repeatable way to change it. We stay involved when you want us, not because you have to.

    Who you'd be working with

    A small partnership, on purpose.

We're a small, senior engineering partnership with people in the US and Latin America. We started it to make working with engineers friendly and easy to begin, with the reliable delivery of a big consultancy and none of the big-firm overhead.

At our size, the work bends to what you need instead of to billable-hour targets or a staffing shuffle: you approve every engineer we put forward, and they stay. Our annual turnover is under 5%, against roughly 20% across the industry. We can move fast when you need it and let a project run at its natural pace when you don't, because we think that makes the quality better and the process far more enjoyable.

Day to day, that means engineers who do architecture and code review, take security and governance seriously, and document as they go. Our nearshore engineers work Central Time, in your standup and your repo.

    • Senior-led. The senior engineer on your first call is the one reviewing your code.
    • US and LATAM. Leadership in both. Nearshore engineers work Central Time alongside your team.
    • Yours to own. You get the code, the documentation and a way to run it. That's how we judge whether we did the job.

    Questions worth asking

What people ask before they book.

We don't have an AI use case yet. Is that a problem?

Most people don't. We start with a conversation about what's slowing the business down, then bring back a plan and estimate for the one or two things worth doing first, with AI where it pays.

How do you use AI when you build?

Our engineers use AI coding agents every day, which is why a small senior team can take on work that used to need a larger one. Everything still goes through code review, automated tests and security checks before it ships, and we coach your team in the same practice if you want it.

    How is a project priced?

When the outcome is clear, as a fixed price from an estimate you've agreed. Anything outside that scope is quoted and agreed with you before we start it.

What do we have at the end?

The code, the documentation and a repeatable way to run and change it, so your team can own it. We're happy to keep helping, but you're never locked in.

How is nearshore different from offshore?

Same hours and the same standup. Our engineers are in Costa Rica and Guatemala, working Central Time with strong English. You work with them directly, not through a ticket queue.

Will you go through our security review?

Yes. We sign DPAs and NDAs, work inside your repositories, cloud accounts and access model, and can walk your security team through it on the first call.

What if we want to bring this in-house later?

That's the goal. We build it so your team can run it, and we coach them where they want help. We measure ourselves on what you can do without us.

    Start a conversation

    30 minutes. No deck.

Tell us what you're trying to get done. On the call we'll say whether we're the right fit, how we'd approach it, and roughly what it would cost.

We reply within one business day, and it's an engineer who replies.
